Artist Statement.

Joyce“Standing before a 10’ x 50’ blank wall on the 23rd floor of the American Reserves Insurance Building in Dallas, Texas, I began my decorative painting career.

Twenty plus years later, I still delight in the conceptual phase of a commission when possibilities abound, but are systematically edited due to placement, lighting, color scheme, content and realistically, budget and schedule. I derive great satisfaction from presenting the one best visual solution for my client without compromising my personal painting style.

Diverse artistic climates have given me a well-rounded foundation, gaining confidence and experience in commercial and residential settings of various proportions. Typically on a smaller scale, current commissions are conceived with more thought to function and less to whimsy and trends. Economic and environmental issues are motivating us to be more discerning consumers. It is increasingly important that our spaces nurture our senses with their design and art.

Whether a focal piece or a subtle background, painted canvas and panels can be tailored to a specific site, and moveable for longevity. I strive to provide art that maintains balance within its setting while it personally inspires or transports you.”

Testimonials.

For many of my clients' interior design projects, murals or handpainted decorative details are the finishing touches that push the end result from great to fabulous. Joyce Danko is the only artist I trust to take my projects to the "fabulous" level. Because of her creativity and outstanding artistic talents, Joyce has a unique ability to bring to life the ideas my clients and I have, creating one-of-a-kind, eye-catching elements that add depth and interest to every project she tackles. Great response from clients. Once they have Joyce Danko artistry in one room, they want more.

Unlike any talent we know, Joyce Danko posses the ultimate gift of "aesthetic endeavor". Joyce not only has transformed our home into one of which could easily be mistaken for a Park Avenue Pent House but has the unfathomable ability to interpret and convey the assignment "leaving no stone unturned". Joyce's attention to detail along with my design expertise has landed us the pages of many national magazines (House Beautiful June 2006, recognized as Kitchen of the year), newspapers (USA Today to name a few), hard cover design tombs as well as recognition by the Rachael Ray Show for "America's coolest Kitchen". Joyce is highly regarded in our Saucon Valley (Country Club community) and beyond for her "awe inspiring" Trompe l'oeil semantic explications.

Joyce has painted murals in our home from our kitchen, dining room, foyer, nursery to our toddlers bedroom. Included are murals, floor canvases, chair cushions, window valances and doors.

Joyce's distinct flair is not complete in our home as of yet, as we are moving onto other future endeavors, where her signiture will continue to grace our home and pages of many other literary venues. Bravo Joyce!
